Using eBooks and eAudio for the first time

1. Go to the OneClickdigital website and click on "Create An Account" in the top right hand corner of the website.

2. Enter your 14 digit library card number.  

3.  You will then be required to fill in some details and create a password.  Your password must be at least 7 characters long and contain letters and numbers.

4.  Once you have created your account you will be logged in and your name will appear at the top of the website.  Once you have registered and created your account each subsequent visit will just require you to login with your email address and password.

Is your device compatible?

please note you will need to download other software to readand listen to eBooks and eaudio on your PC, laptop or Mac. Please see instructions further down this page for details on the software needed.  eBooks and eAudio cannot be read on the Library PCs.

If you are going to use eBooks or eAudio on a PC, Mac or laptop it must have the following system requirements:

  • MAC OS 10.7 or higher.
  • OS requirements for Windows is Vista or higher.

If you are going to use eBooks or eAudio on a tablet or smartphone

  • Apple, Android and Kindle Fire apps are available for you to download.  Please note you still need to create a OneClickdigital account before you can use these apps.
  • Apple devices require iOS 5.0 or later. Android devices require OS 2.3.3 and later.

eBook Compatibility - Our eBooks are not currently compatible with the original Amazon Kindle. This is because Amazon does not support eBook lending in any UK public library service. However, our eBooks are compatible with the Amazon Kindle Fire (HD) through the android app available in the Amazon App store.

Downloading and using the app

If you are using an Apple, Android or Kindle Fire device please take a look below:

1.  Find and download the right app.

2.  The first time you use the app you will need to choose your Country and then your library.  Our library is called "Active Northumberland Libraries".

3.  Login in using the username and password you created.

4.  You can now choose between eBooks and eAudiobooks from the tabs at the top.  

5.  If you wish to search for a new eBook or eAudiobook this can be done by using the app.  Just click on search.  You may be prompted to enter your password again.

6.  Browse the titles and select the one you want.  If you wish to change how long you want the item for just choose from the drop down.  Then click "Check Out".  

7.  Go to "My titles" and your item will be ready for you to download.

Using a PC or laptop

You will need to use two separate programmes if you wish to read eBooks or listen to eAudio on your PC.


1.You will need to download Adobe Digital Editions to your PC and set up an account. If you have used our old eBook system you will already have this and have an account. You can download Adobe Digital Editions by visiting the Adobe Website.  The first time you use Adobe Digital Editions on your PC you will need to Authorise the computer if you have not used it before.

1.  Download OneClickdigital Media Manager by visiting the help section of our eBook and eAudio website.  Choose either the Windows or the Mac application depending on your requirements. Install the software.  Once installed you can then login using your OneClickdigital username and password.
